1 / 3Prince William Ice Center
π Woodbridge, VA
Prince William Ice Center offers public skating sessions, freestyle practice, stick-and-shoot sessions, and structured hockey programs. Birthday parties are hosted in event rooms before or after public sessions. Skate rentals available on-site.
I absolutely love this place! As a teen that is getting into hockey I love coming here and practicing. From what I heard from my friends the food is good, although Iβve only tried the monster energy (which they are good). I plan on taking a look at the shop one day. The ice is always great its not chipped and flatten when free skate is over. The mornings itβs not very crowded so itβs pretty pleasant, but nights itβs pretty crowded but enough space to enjoy skating. For the first few months I used rentals and they where pretty decent but if you wanna actually get into skating I recommend buying used, or new skates, but make sure to look into what you need for skates. If youβre looking to rent for your first time, Iβve found the figure skates are usually the best for beginners.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age kids and teens who want to skate recreationally or develop hockey skills. Public sessions welcome all abilities. Birthday parties are bookable online with clear room and timing options. Families new to skating should rent gear on arrival and aim for weekday public sessions when the ice is less crowded.

βI've watched this rink go downhill steadily since I moved here about 20 years ago. The ice is consistently horrible. They have no business acumen whatsoever. They advertise stick and shoot sessions, and then they put lessons and they take up an entire zone. And nobody can skate there, so you really are stuck in the neutral zone If there are two lessons happening or if there are a group of kids who are constantly skating in front of the net it's not safe to shoot. If they're going to mix small children and adults, they should allow for both zones to be available so the two can separate for safety's sake. Taking up an entire zone just for one person who is learning something sends a very strong message to paying customers, its a not so subtle middle finger. And if there aren't lessons, there are junior players who crowd out the paying customers by having a goalie who won't take shots from anybody else and just act like it's their private ice and practice. Why am I posting this publicly? Because it's impossible to communicate with anyone there. You send them any kind of internal message and you can get crickets. Stop doing everything on the cheap in terms of your paying customers. Have a little respect for us. Stop putting all your money into fancy locker rooms for your higher tier teams when your bathrooms smell like a crack den on a hot day.β
