Puttshack - Boston
📍 D Street / West Broadway, MA
Three themed 9-hole courses — Amber, Emerald, and Ruby — in a sleek Seaport venue. Each round takes 30–45 minutes. Entry restricted to ages 21+ after a set evening cutoff on Fridays and Saturdays. Book in advance to guarantee a tee time.
Really fun! My boyfriend and I paid for two rounds and we got the Amber and then Emerald courses which were pretty identical, apparently one of them was wheelchair accessible but the others werent. Walked up to Luke and he helped us switch over to the Ruby course and it was a great time. He was really helpful and friendly!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children old enough to follow course rules and handle a 30–45 minute round. Daytime and weekday visits are unconstrained by the adult-only evening policy. Pre-booking is strongly recommended on weekends — walk-ins are not guaranteed.

“Came with 5 people and sat at a table to eat after golfing. Got really great drinks Javier is an amazing bartender! The only down side is you can have 6 employees standing around and if you ask for how to get food everyone just says well if you sit near the bar go to the bar for food and if you sit at a table a server will get your food. It’s just rude and dismissive. They talk to you like you know how the place should work instead of trying to at least show the guests which tables I guess get bar service or server service? So you can easily sit for 20 minutes just trying to figure out who’s supposed to serve you and employees standing around doing nothing and no one very helpful. The games are super fun and the bar is super nice and actually the food is great but the hosts can be rude.”

Overview
Puttshack Boston uses patented Trackaball technology to automatically score each shot, removing the need for scorecards. Three 9-hole courses sit inside the Seaport location, each with different layouts — the Ruby course is noted as distinctly more challenging. A full food and cocktail menu is available throughout. Families with children can visit freely during daytime and early evening hours, with the 21+ restriction applying only after a set evening cutoff on Fridays and Saturdays.
