🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for curious kids aged 6 and up with an interest in reptiles, wildlife biology, or wildlife conservation. The venom show Q&A format works well for school-age children who ask questions. Younger children enjoy the turtle feeding station.

My son and I spotted a turtle on our daily walk, and he wouldn’t stop talking about it. That’s why we brought him in. This place has a large selection of reptiles with information cards and QR codes for more learning. My son had a great time. His favorite part was feeding the turtles. Karen, I believe her name was, was extremely pleasant and helpful. Some of the souvenirs were a bit pricey for what they are, and we were a little bummed out that they no longer do shows, but I understand as the owner had been doing it for over 30 years, so he’s up there in age. Overall, it’s a nice place to bring your young children.

As a reptile hobbyist I was excited to visit the Serpentarium, while they had an impressive selection of snakes, their living conditions were less than ideal. I was very disappointed in the small enclosure sizes, pebbles for substrate, limited to no hides for animals and many had improper to no lighting. There were multiple lizards in the entrance area that had nothing in their tanks and no lighting. Some animals appeared to be sick, when I alerted the staff they were unaware of any issues. Others were in over crowded cages. I leave this review only to bring to light the poor condition of the animals. I feel this place has so much room for potential, it’s just sad to see so many animals in this condition.

Overview

Operating since the 1970s, Reptile World Serpentarium is one of Florida's longest-running reptile attractions. The collection includes venomous cobras and other snakes displayed behind glass, with QR codes linking to deeper species information. The daily venom show — now in a presentation format with snake-handling demos and open Q&A — explains antivenom production and snake behavior. Turtle feeding is a popular hands-on activity for younger visitors.
