Rustic Driving Range and Mini Golf
📍 Southeast, IN
27-hole natural grass course with holes up to 75 feet long, mostly Par 4 and Par 5. No artificial turf — trees and terrain create real challenge. Picnic and party area available for group bookings.
Hidden gem. Way more fun than the manicured other mini golf places. Off the path, but the kids loved the freedom of it.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for school-age kids and older who can handle a full-length hole. Younger children will need supervision on longer holes. The open outdoor setting gives kids room to roam. Groups of mixed ages do well here — the difficulty gap between beginners and experienced players keeps it interesting for everyone.

“I really enjoyed myself here, learned a thing or 2 from a pro and all. Great place for a first date”

“Could use a bit of maintenance but overall was a cool experience. It’s more difficult than putt putt which made it a lot of fun.”

“Well, one of indianapolis's iconic landmarks is now officially a dump. We've played here for 40 years, and it was a blast and I would bet you any money that they haven't spent a nickel in all that time. We happened to play around 7:00 tonight and, although they have lights, none of them work. The bathrooms weren't open, almost all of the boards are broken, and the sand barely covers the "greens". Really too bad. Plus it's $15 to play, which is absolutely ridiculous. Note the owner's response, below, where he whines about the review, but doesn't dispute a single thing I said. New owners have let the place completely go to waste.”

Overview
Rustic Golf has operated since 1924 and is one of the only true natural grass mini golf venues in Indiana. The layout is a scaled-down real golf course — not putt-putt — with holes stretching over 75 feet and par ranging from 4 to 5. Trees, slopes, and terrain act as obstacles. A nine-hole round takes roughly an hour depending on group size. Scorecards are kept just like a real round. A picnic and party area accommodates group events with advance booking.
