📍 Cumberland, GA
Sandbox VR Atlanta at Battery puts groups of up to six in full-body tracking suits for shared virtual reality missions. Experiences include zombie survival, action adventures, and more. Reservations required. Located steps from Truist Park.
Such an epic experience, so can’t wait to go back. Because of this experience in definitely getting me a VR. 10/10 recommend
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 10 and up who want a high-energy shared adventure. Younger children may find the headsets uncomfortable and some themes intense. Groups of 4–6 get the most value from the private session format. Always reserve ahead — walk-ins are rarely accommodated.

“VR had my heart racing, in a real zombie apocalypse i know I’ll survive after training here.”

“they had technical issues and we were started an hour over our scheduled time. We were group of 4 doing the newest "zombie" one. Staff were considerate and told us how to get a refund and recommended we go to their other location. Other location was great. Make sure you have a reservation. Only con technically is the lack of IPD adjustment but I get why they can't do that for each person if they don't increase the setup time.”

“IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE VR BEFORE- READ THIS: I had an over one month run around with the corporate office (I think? The email bounced back that was listed as their contact in their official terms at the time. It has since been corrected) and the manager about an issue with their online booking, their terms and conditions, and a refund. I am a communications professional in the tech space. It’s my job to ensure good UX. I professionally brought to their attention several UI issues from their site when booking that contradicted what was said by employees. This lead to customer confusion, and hundreds of (my) dollars wasted. I was met with professionalism, but they never acknowledged their mistake or issued me a refund. I would be very wary trusting this company as they are either going through growing pains still, their corporate office isn’t organized, or they just don’t gaf. Any of which isn’t great. Example: The attached screenshot stated important information related to the experience AFTER you pay and book (non refundable). Typically when you book some sort of experience, a hotel, a concert, etc. all the details are listed BEFORE confirming and paying. Especially with a newer experience like VR, this is new to many customers. We don’t know what to expect. It’s not like a hotel or an arcade that is familiar. The responsibility of guiding the customers through the (new) experience lies with Sandbox here.”

Overview
Sandbox VR uses full-body motion capture suits and VR headsets to place small groups inside shared virtual worlds simultaneously — players see each other as in-game characters. The Atlanta location at Battery Ave offers multiple experience titles including zombie survival and action scenarios, with new experiences added regularly. Groups of 2–6 book private sessions. The newest 'Deadwood' series has proven especially popular. Staff provide full onboarding and handle technical issues.
