I love the ymca, the trainers are always very nice and helpful, if anyone need any assistance I recommend Laura, such a great person to talk to and so helpful and thorough, I’m sure the others are too, the place, the locker room and bathrooms are always clean. The people at the front desk by the entrance are also very nice and friendly, I have not tried other programs or classes just the gym but hopefully I will in the near future, have a blessed day everyone everyday, glad to be part of the YMCA. β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best suited for families comfortable navigating potential conflicts with territorial senior members and willing to pay premium prices. The facility itself is clean with helpful staff, but ongoing disputes over pool lanes and gym space make this challenging for families with children seeking a peaceful swimming experience.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Expect to pay $73-79+ monthly for membership with limited flexibility
⏰Be prepared for potential confrontations with senior members claiming exclusive use of pool lanes
🎟️Staff intervention may be needed to resolve disputes over facility access
πŸš—Cancellation requires in-person visit and advance notice - cannot be done online

β€œWhile I appreciate that the facility strives to accommodate all age groups, several issues have made it increasingly difficult for paying members to enjoy their workouts. Many senior members enrolled through programs such as SilverSneakers and AARP frequently occupy large areas of the gym, particularly the track and common workout spaces, in a way that disrupts other members’ ability to train effectively. For example, the walking track often becomes a place for social gatherings, making it nearly impossible for those wishing to run or exercise at a faster pace to do so safely. Additionally, the temperature balance throughout the facility has become inconsistentβ€”certain rooms are uncomfortably warm while others are overly cold, seemingly adjusted back and forth based on continuous complaints. This inconsistency affects the comfort and performance of all members. Lastly, parking availability has become a challenge due to early hours of use by specific groups, leaving limited space for full-paying members during regular morning and midday times. Considering that members enrolled through external senior fitness programs often have subsidized memberships, I strongly encourage management to review pricing and accessibility policies to ensure fairness and value for those paying full membership rates. I truly value the gym and would like to continue my membership, but I hope these concerns can be addressed to create a more balanced and equitable experience for everyone.”

β€œPlease update your cancellation process. It's not 1990 anymore. I was able to do the membership in person and asked them that it would be just for 1 month because we would leave after 4 weeks. They told me they couldn't accept a cancellation on the same day o_O and that I had to do it at least the day after. I tried to do it online the day after, but that was not an option, sadly. When I was able to go there in person, I filled out the cancellation form, but it was too late at that point. I will now have to pay 1 full month for my daughter's membership, without using a day of it, because we'll be on vacation for 2 months. You guys just lost 3 members at once.”

β€œSome old people took the lane as their own and are harrassing kids from swimming in it. Every Single Time my kids swim, one or two old people came saying we have to leave that it's Y's policy blablabla, we have to get help from staff to let them know we can swim here, and guess what they gave my kids eyeballs, so disgusting! The experience is so bad that it feels they occupied this place and trying to chase away others so they can enjoy it as their own backyard! We might leave for this nonsense.”
