“For families with young children, the park is great depending on the season. During the summer, camps and large groups descend upon the park. It gets extremely crowded and the swings can be taken for hours. Fortunately the park has soft padding for safety. There are various types of equipment and play stations. Nearby is a Rite Aid and vendors sell water and hot dogs close to the park. A hundred yards away is a rubber track for track athletes with a soccer and football field. Official use is by permit only. A few hundred yards away is a baseball field. On the weekends and during the week, parking is difficult. In the mornings, parking is easier. On Van Cortlandt Ave, parking is free after 6 pm during the week. During the summer and spring these are great hours to visit the park if the weather is agreeable. There is a pool area not too far that is open during the summer from June 28 to Labor Day.”

“Terrific park for the kids. Sprinklers, swings, slides. Family friendly atmosphere. Ice cream truck (which sells hot dogs also) right at the entrance.”
