The course is in Ghirardelli square and quite fun with alot of scenic spots from around the city as the hole design. Parking can be iffy but if you park in garage they do offer discount if you play. We also got some snacks, the fries and tater tots were cooked perfectly and a beer while we played was a nice way to wash it down before we headed over to Ghirardelli for ice cream. Definitely recommend checking it out if you like mini golf

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 4 and up during daytime rounds. The landmark-themed holes give older kids and adults a local geography angle beyond standard mini golf. Standard rounds work for all ages; Glow Golf sessions are ages 12 and up only. Groups of 12 or more require an event inquiry rather than standard booking.

Super fun mini golf! Loved the theme! Maria and the team running the place were wonderful, the fries were fresh and delicious, and I would definitely take friends back here again.

The location is great and easy to get to, and the price is fairly reasonable for a mini golf activity in San Francisco. One fun aspect of the course is the props—many of the holes feature miniature versions of well-known San Francisco landmarks, which adds a bit of local character and makes the course visually interesting at first. However, the space itself feels extremely small and cramped. Everything is packed into a tight indoor area, and it quickly becomes crowded. Even though we made a reservation for a specific time slot, multiple parties were apparently scheduled to start at the same time. This caused long wait times at nearly every hole because groups were constantly backed up. It made the reservation feel pointless since choosing a time slot didn’t actually help manage the crowd. Because groups were stacked up behind us, we also felt rushed the entire time. Instead of enjoying the game, it felt like we had to hurry just to keep the line moving. Overall, despite the fun San Francisco landmark theme and decent pricing, the cramped space and poorly managed reservation system made the experience frustrating. Due to the long wait times, rushed atmosphere, and repetitive course design, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Overview

Subpar occupies the lower plaza of Ghirardelli Square, turning SF's most recognizable landmarks into a full 19-hole course that ranges from beginner-accessible holes to genuinely challenging ones. The location alone delivers scenic views alongside gameplay. An attached arcade, boba tea counter, and food station (fries and tater tots get strong reviews) round out the visit. Beer and wine are served.
