1 / 2Sun Valley Playground

Sun Valley Playground is a neighborhood park in San Antonio adjacent to the local library. It features a play structure and open green space. No perimeter fencing separates the playground from Medina Base Road or a rear creek embankment.
Nice park by the library.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who can be trusted to stay within sight of caregivers. The absence of fencing on both the road-facing and creek-facing sides means toddlers and young runners require hands-on supervision at all times. Pairs naturally with a library visit next door.

βSo we came here to the Sun valley playground. And I have to say first of all it doesn't have a fence around it less than 10 ft away from Medina Base road. With that said that's heavy traffic, on the back side there's a deep embankment that goes into a creek which also there's no fence stopping a child from falling down the embankment. The playground is nice plenty of room it's got an exercise area next to it covered under shade the playground is not covered under shade it's got a little side walk around it and it's right next to the Johnston library which is nice and close to circle k for drinks or snacks. I definitely be contacting the city in regards to fencing it in. Kids are running around and as well as I myself was running around my grandson as to make sure that he wouldn't go into the street in which several times he followed the sidewalk towards the street. ** I've contracted the San Antonio Parks department and Council District 4 in regards to placing a fence around the entire park/playground. This will make it saferβ

Overview
Sun Valley Playground serves the Sun Valley neighborhood with a casual play area alongside the local library branch. The park has a relaxed, community feel with open green space for free play. Reviewers flag that the playground lacks perimeter fencing β Medina Base Road runs close to the front, and a steep creek embankment drops off at the rear. These features demand active supervision. The park otherwise draws praise as a clean, pleasant neighborhood stop.
