1 / 3Sunset Ranch Hollywood
π Central LA, CA
Family-owned ranch offering guided horseback trail rides through the Hollywood Hills with direct sightlines to the Hollywood Sign and city skyline. Day tours and evening sunset rides available, with safety instruction provided before every ride.
I had taken the two hour horseback ride years ago and remember how stunning the views were. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to take the one hour Mulholland Trail ride, and it did not disappoint. They even gave the birthday boy, a complementary bandanna for his birthday. All the horses look really well taken care of and the entire staff are very engaging and friendly. Johnny, Becca and our trail guide Benito were stellar. The views are simply stunning. The two hour ride you go much higher and see more vast views, but the one hour ride is very pleasurable as well with really nice views. Ducks and chickens all roaming around added a nice barnyard feel. Loved it! We got a special deal on bucket listers for $65 for the hour which was great. I absolutely loved my horse Draco! High energy and a little feisty I really wish I couldβve run him!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children ready to follow instructions and comfortable around large animals. The horses are exceptionally well-trained and the guides are patient with nervous riders of all ages. The two-hour ride delivers significantly more varied scenery and is the better choice for families who want the full Hollywood Hills experience.

βWhat a wonderful time ! I brought my daughter here as birthday gift and she had so much fun ! I was worried at first but she handled the horse very well. Beautiful views, friendly group, passionate guides, intelligent horses! Everything was unforgettable from start to finish ! Thank you to Ginny, Capp, and Cat for a fantastic Sunday afternoon! I highly recommend this place if you love horseback riding or are a beginner. You will love it !πβ

βThis is the best place to see the horses and go horseback riding! Employees were very friendly, and so are the horses. The riders give you a safety speech and tutorial on how to ride a horse. And the horses are well trained. Beginners or advanced riders would love this ranch. Please either bring cash to tip the rider or you can Venmo them, itβs the only way they make money πβ

βGreat ride even for beginners. They take time and see things up properly. Then they train you on riding and how the control the horse. Which the horses are very well trained to follow each other. So not much is needed. We had a group of 10-12 so they sent 2 riders to watch over everyone. Great views of the city.β
