This is the best play place for kids! A wonderland of multiple themed rooms from play kitchens to hot wheels, trains, music , art and so much more. We bring our grandkids here every time they visit.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children ages 1-10. The sheer variety of themed rooms means kids with different interests all find something to dig into. The toddler room makes it workable for mixed-age families. The volunteer-run model creates a welcoming, unhurried atmosphere β€” plan for a long visit as kids typically don't want to leave.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Plan for at least 2-3 hours β€” the number of themed rooms means kids move slowly through the space
⏰The soft-toy toddler room is separate from the main play areas, making it easy to split time between older and younger children
🎟️Check opening days in advance β€” volunteer-run venues sometimes adjust hours seasonally
πŸš—Located in small-town Rio Vista, so combine with a local lunch stop to make the drive worthwhile

β€œThis place is unique. I’ve never seen anything like it. I assume it’s run by a church. All volunteers. The place is huge and there are tons of different themed rooms for kids to play in. Lego room, music room, sand room, construction room, art room, glow-in-the-dark room, soft toy toddler room, wooden train room, awesome. One and a half year-old grandson was a little overwhelmed, but had a good time. His favorite was the construction room, and the golf cart, you can just climb all over. highly recommend.”

β€œThis idiot driving your van today was putting my family’s life in danger. On a 2 lane road riding my butt and then aggressively passing me in a no pass zone. I was driving 5 over the speed limit and I’m not sure what else he wanted from me. Wild to be driving like this while in a van with the museums information all over it. Do better dude”

Overview

This unique, volunteer-operated children's museum in Rio Vista sprawls across a large building with themed rooms for nearly every interest. Reviewers count rooms dedicated to Lego, music, sand, construction, art, Hot Wheels, trains, play kitchens, and a glow-in-the-dark space. A separate soft-toy toddler room gives the youngest kids a calm zone away from the busier rooms. The volunteer model keeps costs low and the atmosphere community-driven.
