1 / 2The Dinosaur Place
π Montville, NY
Educational dinosaur park with over 100 life-sized dinosaurs along scenic nature trails, plus splash pad, indoor playground, and fossil exhibits for ages 2+.
Such a fun EXPERIENCE! Great Shopping too! I hadn't been there for a few years as my daughter is grown but going back to get GC for a family day trip for our grandkids made me realize this 'gem' is something worth going multiple times a year. Highly recommend.
π Family Action Verdict
This is an excellent choice for families with dinosaur-loving kids who want an educational outdoor experience with multiple activities. Best suited for children who can walk well, as gravel paths make stroller navigation difficult. The high admission cost means it's more of a special occasion destination, but the quality and variety of activities justify the expense for a full day out.

βWe took our little ones to The Dinosaur Place today, and they had an absolute blast! It's seriously a fun spot for kids β their eyes just lit up seeing all the dinosaurs. And honestly, we grown-ups learned a thing or two as well! They've got a ton of play areas to keep the energy levels high, which is always a win. It was also really thoughtful that they had plenty of shade and picnic tables scattered around, making it easy to take a break and have a snack. Plus, the restrooms were surprisingly clean and nice, which is always a big plus when you're out with kids. Just a heads-up for anyone with a stroller: the paths are mostly gravel. It's manageable, but not the smoothest ride. We also caught the 'erupting' volcano, which happens every hour β a cute little touch that the kids really enjoyed. Overall, we really liked The Dinosaur Place. The kids are already asking to go back! It's definitely on the pricier side for an afternoon out, but it totally delivered on the fun factor and kept everyone entertained. If you're looking for something to do with dinosaur-loving kiddos, this place definitely gets the job done!β
