1 / 2The Logan Theatre
📍 Logan Square, IL
Historic Logan Square movie hall showing current and repertory films in a preserved 1915-era setting. Features a full bar, lounge, and special screenings including gaming nights and live comedy.
I stopped by on a whim because I saw they had an interesting showing and had a great experience seeing the 1925 Phantom of the opera here! So cool they preserved the old look and have some items that makes it feel like you’re stepping back in time here. Good selection of candy and lots of popcorn flavorings are a plus! They also have a bar area to hang out in before you see your movie. I’ll be back for sure!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with teens or older kids who appreciate atmosphere over technical specs. The vintage setting, curated film selection, and relaxed bar area suit a special outing rather than a standard blockbuster run. Young children will find little to engage with outside the film itself.

“Friendly staff and the house sparkles✨️ !! The place is clean as a whistle! Beautiful lounge to hang! Great bar, and they don't show thrity minutes of commercials and trailers before the movie starts!! Like AMC does it will definitely drive 45 minutes to bypass several AMC'S to enjoy this wonderful place and I dig the place is decorated to look like a movie hall of fame”

“I love this theatre. It's old school and kind of like a movie museum. Has a bunch of really cool old movie posters lining the hallways. The screen is old school too, so if you're looking for an image experience you'll be disappointed, but the chairs are comfy and it does the trick for me. $5 Wed are an amazing deal. Cheers”

“Love the neighborhood theatre vibe. Staff were personable. Reasonable priced drinks. We saw the Creepshow (1982) on Halloween week; so bad that it is so good. The horror decals were a plus. Parking is a challenge. Expect pay street parking and walk couple of blocks. It is a darn good time. Great for date night.”

Overview
The Logan Theatre retains its original architectural bones — vintage posters line the hallways and the lobby feels like a film museum. Staff are notably personable and the pre-show is short, skipping the commercial reel that frustrates audiences at chain cinemas. The bar and lounge open before showtime. Wednesday tickets are the best-value night. Projection quality is old-school and intentionally so — reviewers who want image sharpness say to set expectations accordingly.
