1 / 2The Oaks Climbing
π Thousand Oaks, CA
The Oaks Climbing offers 8,000 sq ft of bouldering terrain on 15-foot walls with 160+ problems across slab, overhang, dihedral, and arete formats. Fitness classes and yoga also on the schedule. Monthly movie screenings in the historic theater space.
This gym kicks ass now. It's really improved a lot from the concerns I had when climbing here a year ago. The route setting has been greatly improved with lots of diversity in climbs. Shout out to Vy & the team for walking us through some of the route setting techniques there on how to mimic real outdoor climbs.
π Family Action Verdict
Explicitly recommended by reviewers for young kids as well as experienced boulderers β the range of problem grades means beginners and advanced climbers share the same space. Best for kids who can understand basic fall and landing safety. The fitness class calendar gives adults a parallel activity if not everyone in the group climbs.
