“My husband and I went to the Spot in Thornton for the first time last weekend. We told the front desk people it was our first time, however they never gave us a formal orientation like we’ve done at other gyms or checked that our harnesses were on correctly. After quick overview of the autobelay, we did a few climbs. On my third descent, I heard my harness ripping. It was only at the bottom that I realized it was a different type than I’ve used in the past and I accidentally put it on backwards. This type of mistake should definitely never be missed and I feel like it was a huge error in the staff working to not ensure all harnesses are worn correctly.”

Overview
The Spot in Thornton carries the same old-school character as its Boulder sibling, with bouldering walls, auto-belay routes, and a gym area on the upper level. Staff confirmed kids' classes are offered, making it one of the more accessible entry points for young climbers in the northern Denver metro. Reviews describe a friendly and helpful team. First-time visitors should request an explicit orientation walkthrough rather than assuming one will be offered unprompted.
