1 / 2Veterans Park Playground
📍 Park West, CA
Outdoor adventure playground in Culver City with climbing structures and balance challenges designed for ages 5–12. Free parking, shaded picnic tables, a sheltered party area, and an adjacent section for younger children.
A fun park for kids to learn how to climb and test their strength and balance. There main area is for kids 5-12. There’s another playground adjacent for younger kids. My 4 year old had a blast testing his climbing skills. Advice is to be hands on as a parent/caretaker until you’re sure that your kid knows how to handle. There’s a tall slide, a super fun spinning wheel with ropes to hang on to, some swing sets, and rope courses. The grassy field is nice behind the park and there are plenty of bench seating areas and tables nearby. The playground is covered in wood chips that are mostly smooth, I would recommend keeping shoes on in case of splinters. Plenty of free parking nearby too.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids aged 5–12 who enjoy climbing and balance challenges. The sheltered picnic zone is a proven birthday party spot with free parking as a bonus. Families with toddlers will find sparse equipment in the main zone — use the adjacent smaller playground instead.

“My son loves this playground. It has some cool unique features, bathrooms and plenty of shady spots to hang in on hot sunny days. The swings over the sand are a favorite.”

“I did face paint and balloon twisting at a birthday party celebration being held at this park. The event was under a sheltered area in-between the playground and tennis courts. This sheltered area is great to host your events. I'm not sure if it's provided to you clean or you have to come and clean up but the ups is the is infront of the playgrounds and the bathroom if it's needed. I suggest you use the bathroom at home since they are not super clean but the are open, available and in working condition again if needed. Facing the playground, to the left of the shelter there is a decent space of grass in which you can either do the piñatas or have picnic blankets for the kids or your guest to used. This grass area is in-between the parking lot (which is a decent size) and the shelter. I think this is a great park to either visit with your kids or to host a party because of that playground.”

“Pros: free and large parking lot, shaded picnic area with many tables (maybe ten?), nearby bathroom, grassy patch near playground and picnic area, playground is near the shaded picnic area, security seems to be nearby Cons: no shade over play structure, toddler play structure is very small, didn't love overall ambiance of park or the play structure, sand on playground”
