Whittier Narrows Recreation Area is a wonderful family-friendly park that offers a peaceful escape into nature. From the moment you arrive, you feel surrounded by open space, fresh air, and beautiful scenery. The park is very large, so there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy different activities without feeling crowded. One of the best parts of this park is the lakes. β€œHaven't been to Legg Lake since I was a teen learning how to drive. Came for the kids fishing event with my granddaughter. Things have changed but not by much. They added paddle boats the lake and bike rental. When I was a kid they didn't b charge and now they do. It's 10 bucks on the weekend and cheaper during the week. What I recall was manicured lawn from front to back. This time around it seems only the front gets TLC while the back, where you can hear the shooting range, is overgrown with weeds and dirt and hardly any grass. I also noticed alot of dog poop, which made me a bit angry. People need to pick up after their dogs. They said they stocked the lake with rainbow trout but we didn't catch any. There were a couple of kids who did catch a fish or two.”
