1 / 2Zilker Eagle Miniature Train
π Barton Hills, TX
The Zilker Eagle runs a scenic loop through Zilker Park past a rainbow-lit tunnel, river views, and park greenery. Operated by Austin Parks Foundation, it runs Friday through Tuesday. A playground sits adjacent to the depot. Rides suit all ages.
Loved the rainbow tunnel under the bridge and the playground right by the train station.
π Family Action Verdict
An excellent fit for families with toddlers and early primary-age children who love trains and outdoor park time. The ride is calm and scenic rather than thrilling β it pairs naturally with the adjacent playground for a longer park outing. Older children may want to combine it with other Zilker Park activities like Barton Springs Pool nearby.

βWe had a wonderful experience riding the Zilker Eagle miniature train! My kids absolutely loved it from start to finish. The ride through Zilker Park is beautiful and relaxing, and itβs a great way for families to enjoy the scenery together. What really stood out to us was how courteous and friendly the employees were. They were patient, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better for the kids. If youβre visiting Austin with children, this is definitely a fun activity to add to your day. Our family had a great time and we would happily do it again!β
