1 / 2Abma's Farm Market & Petting Zoo: Hillsborough
π Hillsborough Township, NY
A well-maintained family farm with friendly animals, petting zoo, and farm market. Particularly loved by families with toddlers for its clean facilities and gentle animal interactions.
We recently visited Abmaβs Farm on October 31st. We do not celebrate Halloween and wanted to do something fun for the kids. Upon arrival it wasnβt busy at all which for me was nice. We booked our tickets online for $18 per adult or child. The market is so cute. It was really nice and clean. The produce was reasonably priced and fresh. I love how they have pasture raised eggs fresh daily. The petting zoo was sooo fun. It was $8 a bucket to feed the animals. I did feel like that was a little much but I do not know the cost of feeding farm animals so it may very well be reasonably priced. Nonetheless the experience was great. The animals look well taken care of and loved. The staff was nice. The hayride was nice to see the actual farm and all the effort they put into it. We got to go through the corn maze and pick pumpkins, which they had a huge variety. There were really cute photo opportunities with the scenery and decor. Iβd rather visit a farm like this than a zoo where the animals look miserable. The only feedback I have is maybe having someone on the Hayride telling us about the farm, how itβs maintained, and the history of the farm. Someone like me is interested in those details and would have enjoyed an overview of how a farm runs. But the staff there did answer the questions we had. In all we will definitely go back.
π Family Action Verdict
Perfect for families with toddlers and young children who want a gentle, clean farm experience. The layout keeps little ones safely contained while they interact with well-cared-for animals. At $18 per person plus feed costs, it's reasonably priced for the quality experience you get.

βIt was such a pleasure to visit this beautiful farm and enjoy all the lovely animals in it! I brought my almost 2 year old and she had an amazing time watching and feeding them. Itβs relatively small but has just the right amount of a variety of animals. Not to mention itβs very clean and affordable! I saw in a previous review they felt there shouldβve been labels on each sign of what animals not to feed and I agree that would be a good addition. The market was filled with fresh produce and eggs from their chickens which I was super excited to take home! All in all this is a great place to take the family to on a nice day! Looking forward to picking vegetables my next visit!β

βGorgeous, clean family farm! My kids aged 5, 4 and 1 loved it here (almost as much as I did!) So many happy, clean animals to pet and feed. So many workers taking great care of the place. They have a wide variety of animals and baby animals, a fun little play barn for the kids, and an adorable farm stand as well. We paid $8 for a fun little beach bucket full of animal feed that you get to take home. We had so much fun feeding the animals we bought a second bucket. This is a great place to bring kids. They are fenced in and itβs very hard for the little kids to run off or away from you the way the petting zoo is laid out. Highly recommend!β

βTook our kids here for our daughter's 2nd birthday. We came specifically to see the ducks, which she loved watching swim around the pool. Once we walked in the rabbits ran right up to the edge of the enclosure to say hi to us. We loved feeding and petting them and all of the animals. The staff was incredibly friendly. The sensory/play barn area was very cute. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!β
