Great place for both grown ups and kids to enjoy. They have quite a selection of trains you can look at. Each train has a section with the history behind the train . You can also go inside some of them which is cool. They have a kid train ride you can ride(have to pay for) which put a big smile on my son. Overall great experience loved it

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with train-obsessed kids of any age and adults who appreciate industrial history. Free entry makes it a low-risk visit. Open weekends only, so plan accordingly. Kids who love climbing and exploring real machinery get the most out of it β€” passive museum-goers less so.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Open weekends only β€” confirm hours before visiting
⏰Many locomotives are open to board and explore inside
🎟️Train rides are available for a separate fee
πŸš—Bring snacks as there is no on-site cafe

β€œAmerican SW Railway? Travel Town? Whatever, doesn’t matter to me, this place is still so cool. It’s hard to describe how large and impressive old steam locomotives are until you’re standing in front of one. If you love trains, you have to visit this place”
