1 / 2American Southwestern Railway
π Griffith Park, CA
Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park displays full-scale steam locomotives, dining cars, and railway equipment families can enter and explore. Wooden train play days and birthday parties in restored rail cars also available.
Great place for both grown ups and kids to enjoy. They have quite a selection of trains you can look at. Each train has a section with the history behind the train . You can also go inside some of them which is cool. They have a kid train ride you can ride(have to pay for) which put a big smile on my son. Overall great experience loved it
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with train-obsessed kids of any age and adults who appreciate industrial history. Free entry makes it a low-risk visit. Open weekends only, so plan accordingly. Kids who love climbing and exploring real machinery get the most out of it β passive museum-goers less so.

βAmerican SW Railway? Travel Town? Whatever, doesnβt matter to me, this place is still so cool. Itβs hard to describe how large and impressive old steam locomotives are until youβre standing in front of one. If you love trains, you have to visit this placeβ

βAwesome spot for the kids to run around or if you're a train enthusiast. Currently (starting April 24, '21) only open on weekends, 10a-4p.β
