1 / 2Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum
π Griffith Park, CA
All-volunteer railroad museum operating authentic steam, diesel, and electric miniature train rides on a 1.5-mile track through Griffith Park since 1956. Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn is on-site, open the third Sunday of each month.
Absolutely LOVED this place. It was fun, safe, CHEAP. We went an hour before they closed and there was no line. Parking stalls were plentiful. Venue clean. Our party of 7 road that steam engine train around the venue and the experience was spectacular. My toddler was smiling ear to ear and enjoyed going through the little towns and tunnels. There is no seat belts, so young ones need to sit and be held onto securely. Highly recommend
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with train-obsessed children over 34-36 inches tall who will be thrilled by a genuine steam engine rather than a fairground replica. The scenic 10-minute ride through Griffith Park is unhurried and memorable.

βLove it, would come back again! Suggested donation $4 each adult. Volunteers are so friendly and the wait wasn't long (it was to the end of the first aisle and took maybe 25 minutes max). Good shade to wait under also. And they mark your ticket with a train emblem punch!β

βWonderful rides on miniature steam, electric and gas powered trains. The club members are friendly, the ride is fun, my kids enjoy it and besides the miniature trains you can visit Walt Disneys Train Barn on the 3rd Sunday if the month.β

βGreat experience with the small steam engines. Lots of families here. Dogs are not allowed on the train. No mater how small someone tired and was denied. But kids taller than 36 inches are fineβ

Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum is an all-volunteer club that has operated member-built locomotives through Griffith Park since 1956. The 1.5-mile track runs steam, diesel, and electric engines. Children must be at least 34-36 inches tall and accompanied by an adult; no seatbelts are fitted so young children require a secure hold.
