Animal Adventures Family Zoo & Rescue Center
📍 Bolton, MA
Family zoo and rescue center in Bolton, MA with capybara encounters, owl connections, petting areas, animal presentations, birthday parties, field trips, and summer camp. Two locations in Bolton and Hubbardston.
They are working hard to provide a better life for their rescued animals. I hope they can receive more fundings. Staffs are helpful. I also gained a chance to touch the chinchilla, she/he (sorry I forgot) is so soft!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for curious kids aged 4 and up who want more than passive zoo-viewing. The VIP and encounter add-ons are the highlight — book these in advance as slots fill quickly. Unaccompanied minors under 18 are not permitted; a paid adult must accompany all children.

“We did the owl connection with Nick. He was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. It wasn't busy that day so he even gave us a "private" tour and answered all our questions about the other animals. Highly recommended!”

“We had a great time meeting the capybara! And many other animals to see as well, and the staff cares about them which is important”
Angela Savini
“Went on the ultimate VIP tour, had Allie as a guide. She was great and getting to go into the cages and interact with the animals was awesome!! Highly recommend!”

Overview
Animal Adventures operates two Massachusetts locations — Bolton and Hubbardston — and focuses on rescued animals given a second chance. General admission includes self-guided zoo access, goat feeding, and bunny petting. Animal presentations run multiple times daily. Add-on encounters let visitors pet chinchillas, meet owls one-on-one with knowledgeable staff, or go hands-on with a capybara during a dedicated 15-20 minute session.
