Only the first floor of the aquarium is open right now, but there was still lots to see! Don’t listen to the negative reviews - we stayed around 30 minutes and saw lots of cool fish, coral reefs, small sharks, and a huge sea turtle! Make sure to see the diamondback terrapins and pet the host shoe crabs. They like it! The staff there are super nice and we had an engaging conversation with a staff member about the terrapins. Thanks!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best suited for families with young children who enjoy hands-on experiences with marine life. The aquarium offers great interactive elements like touch tanks and crab petting, but expect a shorter visit due to ongoing renovations limiting access to the second floor. Perfect for a quick educational outing rather than a full day experience.

β€œWas excited to see that there are 2 touch tanks open upstairs. My 4 y/o daughter had a great time and loved spending time looking at all the different sea creatures. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell they care. We got to see the huge sea turtle swimming around which was really cool. I would like to see some signage or info explaining what each exhibit is and hope they continue to make improvements!”

β€œThe Atlantic City aquarium is smaller than other aquariums in various locations. They were performing renovations on the 2nd floor when we arrived. The 1st floor included exhibits pertaining to marine life. Colorful fish are displayed in the tropical reef tank and a turtle 🐒 could be observed. Outside is an old diving bell people would use to see beneath the surface of the ocean. Several years ago I enjoyed using a diving bell with my brother at the Steel Pier. Friendly and helpful staff.”

β€œThis is a cool little aquarium that is geared more to kids with the hands on touching of animals. I like what they are doing and are currently expanding as the get more revenue coming in so be sure to stop by. The only gripe I have is that there is an exhibit with Guitar Fish and they seriously named them Atlantic City stripper names like Bambie and Cinnamon instead of classic guitar legends like Stevie Nicks, Lita Ford, Randy Rhodes, or even Darrell Abbott (NJ is legal now).”
