1 / 2Beach 17th Street Playground
📍 Queens, NY
Uncrowded beachfront location at Beach 17th Street in Queens with an adjacent playground. Reviewers note clearer water and more space on weekday mornings. Less developed than higher-numbered Rockaway beach sections.
Beach 13 to beach 17. At Hope For All our mission for 2022 is to baptize 100 Saints First was 8/13/2022 and second baptism 9/17/2022 and Third is to be announced before the end of 2022 we had a great turnout and a wonderful day blessings in Jesus name . ✌💕💕
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a low-key beach day without the crowds of the central Rockaway sections. Regulars visit two to three times per week on weekday mornings for exactly that reason. The adjacent playground gives families with young children a secondary activity.

“I'm here 2-3x/week in the mornings during the summer, if schedule permits. My quiet Zen time. Not as fancy or pristine has hitting the beach down in the higher numbers :7o5h street or ^, but quiet and serves well. Playgroud/park close by as wekk”

Overview
Beach 17th Street sits at the quieter end of the Rockaway Peninsula, offering open sand and ocean access with a playground close by. Reviewers who visit frequently describe it as their quiet morning routine — less foot traffic than the 70s–90s street beaches, with comparable water quality on uncrowded days. A DJ and BBQ gatherings appear on summer weekends. The adjacent playground extends options for families with young children.
