1 / 3Crocheron Park
π Queens, NY
Spacious waterfront park in Bayside, Queens with walking paths, playground, baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, waterfront gazebos, and a popular winter sledding hill. Free entry and parking.
Crocheron Park is a really nice and peaceful spot to relax and enjoy some fresh air. The park is clean, well maintained, and has plenty of open space for walking, jogging, or just sitting and enjoying the view. I especially like the waterfront areaβitβs calm and great for watching the boats go by. There are playgrounds and sports areas, which makes it a good place for families as well. Overall, itβs a great neighborhood park and a perfect escape from the busy city.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want a spacious, peaceful outdoor space with waterfront views and room to roam. The sledding hill is a genuine winter draw for school-age kids. Walking path access to the Cross Island route suits active families. Playground suits younger children for shorter visits. Vast enough that you want to bring company.

βSuch a beautiful park. Lots of walking spaces with bathrooms and parking. You can find Gazebos, baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and playgrounds. The walking path along the Cross Island is close by. Through the walking path you can walk to the Marina to Ft. Totten all the way to Throggs Neck Bridge to Utopia Pkwy. The other direction will lead you to Northern Blvd and Alleypond park. Many great things to do there with friends and family or by yourself. We always come for snow time sliding down the hill like yesterday.β

βSmall little pond off to the side, which you can take the stairs at the end of the road to cross the cross island parkway to run or bike along the LI Sound. Run down playground but if ok for tots and kids. You can run about a mile loop around the park and add on by the cross island parkway if you would likeβ

Overview
Crocheron Park runs along the Little Neck Bay waterfront with wide walking paths looping roughly a mile around the grounds. Facilities include tennis, basketball, and baseball courts, multiple gazebos, and a playground. Stairs at the end of the road connect to the Cross Island Parkway path, which extends to the marina, Fort Totten, and Throgs Neck Bridge. The park's hill draws sledders in winter. Bathrooms and free parking on-site.
