“I strongly urge other parents to think twice before booking a party at Boston Playground. While I understand businesses have cancellation policies, the lack of communication, empathy, and regard for public health displayed by this establishment was shocking. I booked a birthday party for my two children, but six days before the event, our family- including the birthday kids- tested positive for the flu. I immediately sent an email to cancel (as it was after hours) so we wouldn't endanger others. Their policy requires 7 days notice; we gave 6 days due to a sudden medical emergency. Rather than replying to my email, they simply ghosted me and charged my card for half the amount of the party cost. No phone call, no email back, just a charge. When I finally got them on the phone, the representative was cold, robotic, and unapologetic. Most concerningly, when I expressed frustration and hypothetically asked if I should just hold the party anyway since I was paying for it, the employee expressed zero concern about a family with the flu entering their facility to spread germs to other children. They care more about sticking to a rigid policy than the safety of their patrons or common human decency. There was no follow-up, no empathy for sick children, and terrible communication. Take your business elsewhere.”
