1 / 2Butterfly Pavilion
π North Central Westminster, CO
Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster houses a lush free-flight butterfly conservatory, aquatic invertebrate exhibits, a starfish and hermit crab petting area, spider and millipede encounters, and a separate indoor playground for younger children.
A beautiful and serene experience. The butterfly enclosure is lush and peaceful, and the exhibits on aquatic invertebrates were surprisingly cool. Itβs well-maintained, educational, and a great way to support conservation. Great gift shop, too!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for curious kids aged 3 and up who want close encounters with insects, crustaceans, and butterflies. The hands-on petting stations and indoor playground make it a strong pick for toddlers through early elementary. Older kids and teens engage well with the invertebrate science exhibits.

βWe love this place and have gone multiple times now. Lots of fun exhibits and things to do for all ages. Incredibly family friendly and phenomenal staff all around. Has restrooms and handicap accessible, so anyone can go. There's outside of the main attraction a whole indoor playground for littles, interactive exhibits, and even a mini aquarium too. Cannot recommend this place enough. It's the best!β

Overview
The centerpiece is a tropical conservatory where hundreds of butterflies fly freely around visitors. Beyond butterflies, exhibits cover aquatic invertebrates, beetles, spiders, millipedes, and fish. A dedicated petting area lets kids handle starfish and hermit crabs. A separate indoor playground serves toddlers and young children outside the main attraction. The facility is fully wheelchair accessible and well-maintained. Staff is consistently praised across reviews.
