Can You Escape? LI
π Mineola, NY
Six themed escape rooms offering 60-minute puzzle challenges for families with older kids. Quality varies with maintenance and staff attention, but can be engaging when everything works properly.
I brought my family and a few friends here for my birthday. We did the apartment room. When we wakes in we were greeted with a warm hello, the staff was absolutely wonderful and very informative. It is a nice cozy atmosphere and you only Wait a few min and then you're brought right into the room. Our room host was Alyssa. She was fantastic and had a very nice personality, the room was so cool itself with AWESOME hidden secrets and clues. It was definitely one of the top rooms I've done in awhile. My whole party enjoyed the experience and we will definitely be coming back !
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children 8+ who enjoy puzzle-solving challenges, but expect inconsistent quality. When staff are attentive and rooms work properly, it can be a great experience, but maintenance issues and variable service make it risky for special occasions or families with very young children.

βWe did the Subway Escape Room at Can You Escape? in Mineola and had a great time! The concept was creative and challenging, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with hints that kept it fun without giving too much away. Some of the props and clues were a bit worn down, especially the subway map pieces and a few items like the measuring tape and backpack items, which made the final puzzle tough to finish. At the end of our 60 minutes, the staff member kindly showed us how the last step worked, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a clever and exciting experience that just needs a little refresh on the props. Weβd definitely come back to try another room!β

βCame here with a group of four to do the Abandoned Factory escape room, and the experience was disappointing from the start. The staff member who checked us in didnβt give us the backstory at all, which felt strange since every escape room Iβve done has always included that. I only knew a bit of the story from what I read online. He also mentioned that one of the mechanisms wasnβt working, but didnβt explain which one or what that meant for the game. Once inside, the room was extremely dark. It wouldβve been helpful if they provided a flashlight, but we had to rely on our phone flashlights just to see. Many of the props and clues were worn down or dirty, making numbers and letters hard to read. At one point, we reached a puzzle that required a lock, but the lock already had a key sitting in it. When we moved the item, the key fell out without us noticing, so the lock stayed locked, and we spent a long time trying to solve something that should have already been open. On top of that, the broken mechanism ended up being something we kept trying to figure out because it wasnβt clearly explained before we started. Overall, we were poorly informed, and several elements of the room either didnβt work or caused unnecessary confusion. These issues made it difficult to progress and ultimately affected our ability to escape. To add to the frustration, whenever we asked for a clue, it took quite a while for the staff to respond. It honestly didnβt feel like they were actively paying attention to our room. Escape rooms are supposed to be fun and immersive, but this one fell short due to miscommunication, worn-out props, and lack of attention from staff.β

βWe paid $200 for this escape room expecting a fun, family-friendly challenge. Instead, we found the key within the first 5 minutes, only to be told we still had to keep playing the room. because we already knew where the key was, this took the fun out of the entire experience, and we were incredibly disappointed. We asked to do another room, especially because we were the only people there, but got yelled at for finding the key so fast. Not our fault these people donβt hide the key well. Why? What exactly did we pay for if the whole point was βescapingβ? Worse, the so-called βescape masterβ was completely inattentive the entire time. When we asked for hints to try and communicate she was incredibly rude, barely responded when we asked for help, and kept yelling at us like we were causing problemsβwhen all we did was solve the puzzle too fast. It scared my 4-year-old cousins so badly that they started crying. There was no fun, no professionalism, and zero understanding of customer experience. Iβve done multiple escape rooms before, and this was hands down the worst one. Save your money and your sanity. This place has no idea how to run a proper escape room, especially for families.β
