CGV by Regency Buena Park Cinemas

“CGV Buena Park is back and open again courtesy of Regency Theaters. It still looks exactly the same and has Korean movies with English subtitles. Please support the theater as it is one of the best in all of California. It's located on the top floor of The Source Mall in Buena Park, Orange County. There is free parking as well with easy access to the movie theater. There are not many places where you can watch South Korean movies - which are the best in the world - so it's really important to keep it open. Regency Theaters has also taken over the running of CGV Los Angeles - which closed in September 2025 - as well. It's been rebranded as Regency Koreatown. The Buena Park location has a great selection of current big US movie releases as well as Korean films. Check the CGV Regency website for up to date listings of showtimes. It has very comfortable seats, and a good choice of snacks and drinks - including cheddar cheese and caramel flavored popcorn. As of June 2025 to February 2026 it also has discounted tickets on Tuesdays - just $7.50 with a $1 booking fee. A bargain. Here's my original review from a couple of years ago. It's like being back in Korea. Although not as big as some of the CGV movie theaters in Seoul 서울 or Gyeonggi-do 경기도, this has everything you need and Korean movies with English subtitles - which is the most important thing. It's located inside The Source shopping center, which also has plenty of Korean restaurants as well. Very comfortable premium seats. Slightly expensive but worth it. 그것에 관한 모든 것을 정말로 즐겼습니다. 대 한 민 국!”

“Went to watch a movie on Saturday morning so it was a bit quieter but overall the cinema was well cleaned and watched a 4xd movie. If you don't like your seat to move a lot, I don't recommend the 4xd experience, but I overall had a great experience. What I liked that they had quite a lot of foreign korean films , and I would like to go back to watch some of those”

“Then to CGV Cinemas Buena Park at The Source Mall in Orange County. Despite rumors that it had shut down, it’s still operating. It remains one of the very few places in Orange County where you can truly feel Korean culture. That alone makes it meaningful. Today’s movie was 왕과 사는 남자. The theater employee’s bright smile while handing over the popcorn left a strong impression on me — sometimes a small gesture changes the whole atmosphere.”

“I have seen two movies here, fantastic beasts 2 many moons ago and Avatar 3 in 4dx tonight. The staff was super courteous and helpful, the popcorn was good and the movie was good. We did have a few problems with the 4DX theatre. First off, the seating chart on the website does not look like the actual seating arrangement. Plus my wife's arm rest was broken. Would come back. I'd love to try ScreenX there”
