1 / 2Culver/Slauson Park
📍 Del Rey, CA
Small community park in Los Angeles with a playground, basketball courts, barbecue pits, and a direct link to the Ballona Creek Bike Path. The recreation centre runs active kids programs. Parking is very sparse.
Great resource facility for the community. The facility provided the families with back-to-school backpacks and prizes. Families were engaged in fun games and food was provided. It was great to see the diversity and inclusion of the community.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for local families who can walk or bike, and for parents seeking structured programming rather than open roaming space. The Ballona Creek trail connection makes it a natural starting point for family bike rides. Families arriving by car should plan for very sparse street parking.

“So far from what I’ve seen by biking past here for 5 minutes on the Ballona Creek trail, the park looks well maintained and is pretty clean.”

Overview
Culver/Slauson Park sits beside the Ballona Creek Bike Path and offers a playground with swings and a sand pit, lighted basketball courts, barbecue pits, and picnic tables. The on-site recreation centre delivers structured kids programming including seasonal events with community giveaways. The park is compact — not suited to large groups needing open space. Restrooms in the recreation centre are closed on Sundays.
