1 / 3Del Aire Park
π Hawthorne, CA
Spacious free-entry park in Hawthorne featuring quality playground equipment, basketball courts, numerous picnic tables, and pram-friendly access. Popular with families for longer outdoor visits.
A continued return to my old beloved hangout, near where I used to live by the sea. Here Iβve played ball and picnicked with friends. Iβd recommend planning a leisurely fun time with friends and family, complete with most of the basic amenities available that county and city parks should have. Although not a sports park per se, thereβs plenty of space for playing soccer, football and baseball. Thereβs an outdoor basketball court and multiple tennis court area. An outdoor playground area is quite large with multiple sections. Thereβs an indoor gymnasium, tho under renovation at the time of this review posting. The park office is staffed, even on Sundayβs. Dog walking is acceptable with mitt stations to encourage self-cleanup. An added plus is a Big 5 Sporting Goods Store, a block away. Thereβs also places to eat or get take out nearby.
π Family Action Verdict
Active families with children of all ages find this park easy to spend a few hours in β the playground keeps younger kids occupied, basketball courts pull in older children and teens, and the picnic tables work well for family gatherings. Dog owners appreciate the open grass and cleanup stations.
