E J Murray Memorial Skating Center
๐ Northeast Yonkers, NY
A homey community skating center ideal for birthday parties and family sessions. Best for kids 8+ who can handle minor rink imperfections, with accommodating staff and nostalgic Friday night skating.
Held my daughter's 9th birthday here and it was a great experience. ๐ My daughter had an amazing time, along with her friends. A great ice rink. The staff were all very nice and the food service people were too. In fact everyone loved the chicken fingers and fries served.
๐ Family Action Verdict
This is an ideal spot for children's birthday parties and family skating sessions, particularly suited for kids 8+ who can handle minor rink imperfections. The homey atmosphere and accommodating staff make it perfect for celebrations, though families should plan around limited evening hours. Best for those seeking a nostalgic, community-focused skating experience rather than a polished commercial venue.

โWent here roller skating for my daughters birthday party. Reserved 1 of the 2 picnic type tables at the entrance to the rink. Was able to setup balloons & party stuff. Itโs $50 just to reserve the table. Staff was great. No outside food or drinks only the cake. Concession stand was open so was able to have guest order what the want & pay at the end. Itโs only open from 8 pm - 10 pm on that Friday night. Has music playing also for skating. As for the rink, because itโs used for hockey, while skating you have be careful of the raised paint for the hockey setup. See pic.โ

โI have been skating here since I was a kid. If you grew up in yonkers, the Friday night session (maybe 7-10 or 8-10) was the place to be. They have renovated over the years and I'm happy that the rink is still here and doing well. All the things that Yonkers wastes money on, putting money into the rink and the other parks facilities is a good use of city funds and is not a waste.โ

โWas there for the first time for their final night of roller skating of the season. Fairly smooth floor, clean, not as slippery as it looks. Decent DJ Vinny played the disco classics best for skating. Plenty of room to put on skates. Overall nice place to roller skate. Wish they had more hours open and maybe adults only nights.โ
