Indoor play center with a two-story climbing structure, six slides, water vortex, Tiny Town make-believe village, giant Lite Brite wall, and a dedicated baby-toddler soft play zone. Built for ages 1–6.
The Exploratorium in Skokie is such a wonderful place for kids and families! It’s clean, safe, and full of creative, hands-on activities that keep children engaged for hours. The play areas are well-designed for all ages from toddlers to older kids and everything is kept neat and organized. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, which really adds to the positive experience. It’s also a great spot for birthday parties and playdates, with plenty of space for kids to explore and have fun while parents relax. Overall, it’s one of the best places in Skokie for kids to learn, play, and use their imagination. Highly recommend to any family looking for an educational and fun outing!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and preschoolers aged 2–5. The water vortex and Tiny Town are the standout hits for that age group. Weekday mornings deliver the most relaxed experience — weekend crowds can overwhelm the space. Gate supervision is inconsistent, so keep active tabs on young children throughout.

“Took my 3.5 yo grandson there yesterday and he loved it! He is the perfect age for all of the activities. I took off one star as the locked gates were often unlocked and the tables in the snack area were not cleaned regularly. One month later we returned and my experience changed dramatically— way too crowded and there was often no one at the desk w people consistently not locking the gates. Someone took off w my grandson’s boots! They were identical but his were a size 11 and left us a size 8!!! Come on people!! You can’t recognize your child is wearing boots 3 sizes too big?!? So tacky and I’m embarrassed for you—- I had to carry my grandson to the car.. it is now Day 4 and still no call… I had to buy new boots and I won’t be returning to a place w unethical patrons.”

“My 3-year-old absolutely loves coming here! His favorite activity is definitely the water play, but he’s also a fan of the colorful cylinders and the jungle gym. The space offers a great variety of engaging activities for little ones, and I find the pricing very reasonable for what’s included. Saturdays can get a bit crowded, so I’d recommend visiting on a weekday for a more relaxed experience. Overall, it’s a fun space that keeps my child entertained and active.”

“Kind of small. The water activity area had some non functioning aspects. Nice little room for coloring, blocks, a nice little playground, giant lite-brite. My 4 year old loved it”
