1 / 3Fine Arts Theatre
📍 Beverly Hills, CA
Historic single-screen theatre built in 1937, hosting 70mm film presentations, Studio Ghibli double features, film festival events, and post-screening director Q&A sessions. Best for families with older children who can engage with classic cinema.
The place is beautiful, from.the moment you walk in, the experience is fabulous from lighting, carpet, the red color inside the theater, the mirrors in the restroom is spectacular. This a theater that plays movies as well, it has a calendar for specific movies playing. The stage is use.for different events, this time was a forum. Plenty of seats, lighting and decor, this place is cozy and welcoming. I just loved everything.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children 8 and older who can appreciate a historically rich cinematic setting. The 70mm and Ghibli screenings give kids an experience no multiplex can match. Verify the calendar in advance — the theatre does not run standard daily schedules. Bringing supplemental snacks is smart given uneven concession quality.

“A beautiful historic theater. We saw Gettysburg in 70 mm. It was amazing. The Director and Cinematographer shared an insightful Q&A afterwords.”

“Been here twice now and it was nice but, I got my popcorn and when we ate it, you can tell it tasted stale or old or just not right. And the cherry coke tasted watered down. But the customer service was very nice. And the theater is nice as well as the bathroom”

Overview
Fine Arts Theatre retains its original ornate interior — plush seating, elaborate moldings, and striking restroom mirrors. The calendar rotates between 70mm presentations, Ghibli marathons, independent releases, and director-led forums. A small cafe serves concessions. Parking options nearby are free or low-cost. Check the calendar before visiting — on non-screening days the space hosts other events.
