Freeport Recreation Center Ice Rink

“Went to ice skating rink with my kids, the experience was great. The ice wasn’t fully frozen in all areas I guess because it was a warm day. The cost to skate is reasonable. Unknown to us one vending machine was not working and we lost $2. We called the phone # for a refund and 3 weeks later we got a letter with $2. I didn’t expect it but was really nice that the vending machine company honored their company policy.”

“We go here for Ice hockey clinics. It is a bit far from where we are but since this facility has great ice hockey coaches, we don’t mind traveling. The facility has a lot of parking space. It is a “bubble” ice rink, so the space is very limited. The benches are limited as well.. The locker room/changing room is small. The bathroom is somewhat OK. No concession stand so bring food/beverage with you.”

“It's a decent rink but has several drawbacks the biggest of which is how foggy the rink gets. It gets so bad you can't see the puck past the center line. I don't know a time in the last 5 years when the scoreboard worked correctly. This rink could be awesome if they just put some money into it. I will say the player benches and stands are in good shape.”

“It's a hockey rink for down and dirty hockey. Small area to observe, no frills, no refreshments other than a machine. Watch the structure of the bubble, it has more than a few holes in it. Gets the job done, needs some polishing all around. Great parking lot! Sample space.”
