1 / 2Newbridge Arena
π Bellmore, NY
Year-round indoor ice skating with public sessions, lessons, and birthday party packages. Features private party rooms and professional instruction, though can get busy with experienced skaters.
Took daughter for a birthday party. Kids had fun. They have walkers for the ones that haven't done it before. Be mindful, there's still hockey practice and private lessons going on at the same time. Very busy.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with skating experience who don't mind crowds and professional skaters sharing the ice. Beginners will find helpful staff and walker aids, but the busy atmosphere with ongoing lessons may be overwhelming for young children. Consider bringing your own snacks due to high concession prices.

βNewbridge Arena is an awesome skating rinkβ¦.. for professionals. I found that the rink was mostly pros and they literally that others existed. I wouldnβt take a child here, and there care is NOT something I recommend. However if you are pretty good, then this might be the ice skating rink for you. I enjoy this rink, I am just donβt understand the level of care and awareness.β

βI was at Newbridge Rink this afternoon and left early. I can't believe how little they care about the safety of their community. The rink was completely packed. I got there half hour early because I know all other rinks on LI are only allowing 50 capacity. Not this rink. They did temp checks and you had to wear a mask, but that was the extent of there safety precautions. People were crowded together waiting to pay, no distancing in place. All the benches inside were right next to each other. No spacing at all. Multiple people sitting on benches putting on skates. They did nothing to help with social distancing. I couldn't believe the WATER FOUNTAINS WERE OPEN! Kids were drinking from them and putting their mouths on the metal because the water came out very low. I couldn't believe it! The food bar was open and all the tables we lined up in rows. Nothing was spaced out or changed or distanced for more safety. People's tables were back to back so people were eating right behind each other. The food court area was very crowded so people started eating in the general area where people sit to put on skates or rest. They had their masks off talking and eating. Kids were throwing food at at each other. One of the male staff members in a green sweatshirt was behind the food counter eating what looked like cheese fries right where the girl was taking out food and serving it to customers. He was eating and licking his fingers. I told my daughter sorry no churro for you from this place. I made eye contact with him, gave him a dirty look and shook my letting him know how disgusted I was, but he could care less and kept munching away. There's a glass office right outside the doors to enter the actual skating area staffed with people that were older and looked like management. they were close to each other and at times they wore there masks below there chin and talked. Other staff would go in and out, pull the mask down to talk to each other. It's a very small office so not safe to do that either. The walls were mostly glass so they were able to see everything happening in the rink. Staff members walked right past people with there masks off, eating food....they did nothing. The skating area was also packed like the pandemic didn't exist. More benches loaded with people. I stood up against a wall to keep my distance from people. Iβm sorry, I hate saying bad things about businesses, but I seriously felt so uncomfortable and unsafe here. I was completely DISGUSTED how little they cared to protect there customers and community. I have been to 2 other rinks on LI and it was a completely different experience. This place could seriously be a super spreader with the way they run it. There's risk everywhere you go but here you actually felt at risk. I have no respect for the people running this rink. I told my daughter I was sorry but we had to leave. She said she didn't mind because it was so crowded she could barely skate anyway. We left halfway through and as we were leaving they were still allowing people to pay and come in. I guess there's no limit to how many people can come in. They have signs and the website makes it seem like they're taking safety measures but that's complete BS. I only posted pics of the general area and skating rink. I wanted to post pics of how unsafe the food court was but, I didn't think it was right to post pics of children WITHOUT masks online.β
