Game n' Grounds
📍 Chatsworth, CA
Chatsworth board game café with over 200 titles to borrow, buy, or bring from home, plus coffee, mead, paninis, and casual food. Kid and dog friendly with spacious tables for large groups.
This board game café has recently become one of my favorite spots! As a board game enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover this hidden gem. It’s perfect for group hangouts or even a cozy date with your partner. They have a wide selection of games, making it a great place to try out those games you’ve always wanted to play. One of the best things about this café is the food—absolutely delicious! The desserts and drinks are also amazing. The space is cozy and beautifully decorated, with a charming and comfortable atmosphere. It’s such a fun and enjoyable place to spend time. The only downside is that it’s so popular that finding parking can be a bit challenging.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age kids who enjoy tabletop gaming together. The spacious tables and extensive library keep groups of all sizes busy for hours. Younger children need adult engagement to get the most from the game selection. Food quality is inconsistent — treat it as a snack stop rather than a meal destination.

“Game N Grounds is a nerdy haven. I go there regularly to play games with friends and family, drink coffee and mead, read, and eat yummy food. They're both kid and dog friendly (though when I and others bring dogs, we sit outside). You can borrow, buy, or bring games. I haven't gone to the events they host, but there's a bunch! Parking can be tough, but doable in the nearby side streets.”

“This place was really cool. The coffee was also extremely good. I got a vanilla latte. I didn't get the chance to play any games ... only cause I didn't have a friend to bring, or stay late. They do have meet ups and plenty of people there for social hour. I just had to leave first. Great place to hang out. They also have a wicked large game collection. Super fun spot.”

“During the day, I come here often to work. Their tables are nice and spacious. WiFi is great. Bright and open atmosphere with friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. Food and drinks are pricey for what you get and aren’t anything special. I’ve brought my kids and family in the evenings to play board games and we were able to find a table to seat all 8 of us. They have so many games you can borrow to play there and even more you can purchase. They also have games on clearance at a very good price. Parking options are limited with 3-4 dedicated spots in the back and street parking.”
