Harbor Park Pool is a public pool owned by the City of Los Angeles. It is open seasonally (just for the summer months). The water is fresh from the tap and unheated. There are teams and lessons for children. There are lessons for adults. The life guards are well trained and the pool is safe and clean. The locker room is without a roof and they have a no nudity in the locker room rule, so come in your suit and go home in a bath robe. There is a spectator area on the back of the facility. Children birth to 7th birthday pay for a ticket and must have their own adult in the water with them. Babies must have a protective incontinence diaper.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 3–12 working toward swimming independence through structured lessons. Certified lifeguard instructors and small class sizes produce measurable skill progression — one reviewer tracked a child reaching Level 4 over multiple summers. Adults must enter the water with children under 7, so pack your own swimwear.
