As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to capture weddings at Hempstead House, and it’s always an unforgettable experience. This historic mansion feels like stepping into another era, with its grand stone architecture, rich interiors, and breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound. It’s a dream setting for couples looking for a venue with character, elegance, and a sense of history. The outdoor gardens provide a stunning backdrop for portraits, while the grand rooms inside add a timeless, cinematic feel to every celebration. The versatility of the space allows each wedding to feel unique, whether it’s a classic, romantic design or a more dramatic and moody aesthetic. It’s always a pleasure to work at Hempstead House, and I look forward to capturing more beautiful weddings at this incredible venue.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Families with school-age children who have an interest in history or architecture find the guided tour genuinely engaging β€” the Gilded Age interiors are impressive and the estate setting is unlike most Long Island attractions. Younger children enjoy the grounds and playground.

β€œWe really enjoyed our visit! The place is peaceful and relaxing, and there weren’t many people around (we went on a Wednesday). There’s convenient parking and even a playground for kids. It’s a great spot for a walk outdoors β€” the grounds are beautiful and well-kept. As far as I could tell, there’s nothing inside the building except restrooms, so the main attraction is exploring the outside area.”
