Science Museum of Long Island
π Manhasset, NY
A hands-on science education center offering structured workshops, holiday programs, and summer camps. Note: This isn't a traditional museum with exhibits - all activities require advance booking.
My kids attended camp at the science museum. They were greeted each day with warm smiles and friendly and knowledgeable educators. At pick up my kids were excited to tell me everything they did in the day and how they had so much fun. Caitlin and her team run a great program! Every day there was a different theme. She also sent reminders and a recap each day. She was responsive and accommodating. Iβm happy my friends recommended this camp!
π Family Action Verdict
This is best for families seeking structured summer camp programs rather than casual museum visits. The camp offerings appear excellent with engaged educators, but don't expect a traditional science museum experience. Always call ahead or book reservations as drop-in visits will likely disappoint.

βSummer camp at the museum was fun and interesting, yet overpriced compared to the Dolan DNA learning center around 10 mi away. For the connivence, itβs great, but for quality, I donβt recommend this place.β

βI will give this a 3 star rating only because the website is really not clear on that this is NOT an actual Science museum with exhibits. Traveled this far with kids to nothing. Also went inside and there was nobody at the front until we started yelling βHello, anybody hereβ π The property itself is also not really inviting in terms of signs on where to go except for one map at the beginning. But i guess that is enough ? Or not. Anyways, 3 stars because according to other 5 star ratings the program here is great. Just have to reserve or something? That wasnt clear to me either when the lady came out finally to greet us.β
