π Highland Park, CA
Highland Park Bowl features eight restored lanes in an authentic 1927 building with original pin machines. Family-friendly before ; the venue transitions to 21+ after that. Walk-in hourly play and group lane packages available.
Wonderful time bowling with my friends this past weekend!! Service is phenomenal!! The workers are so kind ands friendly makes the experience all that much better!! Love the vintage vibes of the alley. Drinks are delicious. So is the food! Overall a great experience!! Highly recommended to come check out this vintage bowling alley!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older kids who engage with history and appreciate a genuinely unique venue over a polished chain experience. The 1927 atmosphere is the main attraction β plan the visit around that. Families who prioritise reliable food, cool air conditioning, or pristine equipment should set expectations accordingly.

βFantastic building and space. Womderfully preserved and/or renovated. Drips with history. 8 lanes with old time pin machine that is great to look at and hear. Bowling seating also superb. Then why four stars. A bit limoted cocktail capability but the real problem is the food. Spongy, chewey calamari and tasteless, floppy pizza. Also, there was one server for all 8 lanes. Omce it filled up everything was slow. They did finally get him some help but 5 stars, for me, you can't have bad food and spotty service. The building, bowling and vibe are a strong five stars and if you don't eat or have cocktails there are no demerits. Outstanding history and presented perfectly.β

βIts a neat place, poor cooling, expect a lot of sweaty body odor. The drinks are pretty good and I have yet to sneak into the new tiki bar. Overall a fun time trading on the worn-in rustic hipster vibe of the late 00s. More Black Keys than stomp-clap.β

βThe price per play is cheaper than those alleys in nearby areas. I like the vintage look of the bowling alley. But itβs dim. I wish the game area is a little bit brighter. The balls are kind of oily / greasy that I need to wipe it every time before using it. Such also affected my grip of the balls, especially the heavier ones. I used Lane 5 (center lane) thinking that the floor is a bit sloped to either sides. But, it seems that thereβs something wrong with Lane 5, too. The balls are swaying either side although I threw it in at the center. Plus, thereβs a wood sticking out before the foul line which could affect the direction of the ball if it ever hit that wood. No reservations. You have to come early pay a cheaper price and less waiting time.β

Overview
Highland Park Bowl operates eight bowling lanes in a meticulously restored 1927 building, preserving original mechanical pin machines and prohibition-era architecture. Walk-in hourly play and all-inclusive group packages both available. Food delivery to lanes offered. The venue runs warm due to sparse air conditioning. Lanes and balls show authentic wear consistent with the historic setting. Families must plan to depart before the age cutoff.
