1 / 3Hollenbeck Park
π Central LA, CA
A hilly lakeside park perfect for families with older children who enjoy wildlife watching and outdoor activities. Features ducks and geese around a large lake with open spaces for walking and playing.
Loved this park. It's a great park for kids to play around and it's a great location for a walk or even a jog. Not to mention all the friendly ducks that love eating rice. I make it a point to always bring rice or bread and feed the ducks with my siblings. Parking is very limited as when I got there, all parking spots were taken in the parking lot, it was a miracle it was even open. Parking in the parking lot only allows you up to 3 hours. Street parking is out of the question as there are never any spaces.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older kids who can handle steep hills and enjoy feeding ducks and geese. The park offers nice nature experiences but requires patience for parking and isn't suitable for those with mobility concerns or small children who tire easily on slopes.

βAwesome park for some fishing, picnicking or just hanging out under a tree. It's also cool to see all the wildlife. So many geese, ducks, turtles and other wildlife. But make note, this whole park is very hilly. An elderly person would have a hard time getting down to the lake area from the parking/street.β

βWho would thought there could be such a charming park right next to the busy highway! The park has beautiful green space along a slope, on top of which you'll get a nice view of the lake and its two active fountains. The park is mostly for relaxing so it only has a playground and some picnic tables. A walk around the lake would be a fantastic way to get some steps, although it may not be the best stroll since it's next to the highway. There are a couple of restroom facilities in the park but they look quite rundown.β

βThis is a great park if you like ducks and geese. I'm sure they would love to be fed. Seen some people fishing here they have a weight area here pretty safe area seems like. Bathrooms were open. Did not see a basketball court yet but there is a skate park here. Just happened to be down here during a transport so I stop by this park to wait and had a great walk. Seems like a decent place to go jogging to.β
