đ Staten Island, NY
Staten Island equestrian center offering riding lessons and summer camps for children aged 5 and up. Instructors teach full horse care including grooming and preparation alongside riding.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families ready to commit to a full horsemanship education rather than a one-off ride. Children learn to care for horses from the ground up, which builds a deeper connection with the animals.

âBrought my 7 year old for riding lessons on a Saturday. Michelle and her staff are very attentive and patient. Beautiful stable of horses. I appreciate the fact that they take the time to teach about caring for the horses. My daughter learned how to prepare the horse for riding as well as grooming the horse before putting it back in the stable. Magical experience and wonderful peopleâ

âOur five year old daughter attended a week of their summer camp here and had an amazing experience. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and kept our daughter safe. It is amazing that a gem like this still exists on Staten Island. Highly recommend. THANK YOU Michele and Briana!â

Overview
Into the Woods Equestrian Center runs riding lessons and summer camps for children from age 5. The program covers full horse care - grooming, preparation, and tacking - alongside mounted instruction. Staff are praised for patience and attentiveness with young riders. Multiple reviews note poor phone interactions when making initial inquiries, including from a caller seeking accommodation for a child with autism. On-site instruction quality and staff are well-reviewed once enrolled.
