1 / 2Jackie Robinson Pool
π Manhattan, NY
This large, clean public pool offers free entry and works well for families with babies and young children, though service quality can be inconsistent depending on staffing.
Went there with my 8 month baby for the first time and throughly enjoyed it. Staff and the supervisor were nice and attentive to help. Place was organized and clean as well.
π Family Action Verdict
This large public pool works well for families with babies and young children when operations run smoothly, but be prepared for potential staff attitude issues and long waits. Best suited for local families who can be flexible with timing, though the inconsistent service quality makes it less reliable for special outings.

βIt's a beautiful day in the neighborhood overlooking Jackie Robinson Park & Pool on Edgecombe Ave. Enjoying an afternoon walk on this warm & sunny day. There's an enchanting cool breeze that sways the tree leaves back & forth. It's picturesque. This park which stretches from 145th Street up to the Polo Grounds Towers Projects on 155th Street & Bradhurst Avenue. Fond memories flood my mind as I think of my youthful summers running through this park, swimming in the pool, and playing freeze tag while making friends in the 1970s. Now in my retirement mode, that was half a century ago. It actually brings a smile to my face as i walk this stretch on Edgecombe Avenue. My oh my doesn't time fly by, like the insects who insist upon invading my personal space πππͺ² π«©. It's all goodπ. I wish we had taken loads of photos, but we were far away from the digital media age back in the 1970s. Check out my photos & videos. Enjoy your summertime and take a walk at one of the numerous parks of the BIG π APPLE. 1LuVπβπ½β

βThis is a giant pool, but due to lifeguard shortages itβs never fully open. As of today, July 16,2024, they have 1 hour sessions from 11-6 with a midday break. They are rotating people out of the pool every hour because of the lines outside, and every time Iβve walked by there is a long line of people waiting to get in. Prepare to wait to get in and have 1 hour to swim. You must be wearing a bathing suit and you must have a padlock for the lockers.β

βHonestly, the pool was clean but it has things inside that I cant really tell what that was. The workers were VERY disrespectful and had an attitude. Started yelling at a lady with her kids because she didn't have a lock, and that poor lady could hardly speak English. They just be hiring anyone these days.π€¦π€¦β
