1 / 2Kiwanis Recreation Center
๐ Kiwanis Park, AZ
Comprehensive rec center in Tempe featuring one of Arizona's earliest wave pools, batting cages, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, and event spaces. Suits all ages year-round.
this place it was built in the 80s I think this may have been the second or third or so wave pool ever there is a cool waterslide too and it's indoors i had a birthday party for my daughter there 15 years ago. there are also gyms and racquetball and nice tennis courts and even pickleball heck , if you want there's even batting cages.
๐ Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with school-age kids who want varied options under one roof. The wave pool suits confident swimmers โ it's intense enough to require close supervision of smaller children. Tennis lessons available through the courts program. An all-weather destination that works regardless of Arizona summer heat.

โThe Kiwanis recreation center is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. My grandson was taking tennis lessons, and the courts and staff for the tennis center are awesome. Parking can be a chore depending on the time of day when youโre there.โ

โWhat a great facility. My kid has come to the wave pool and batting cages a few times. Came to an event in their meeting space and had a good experience.โ
