1 / 3LeFrak Center at Lakeside
π Brooklyn, NY
Popular outdoor ice skating rink in Brooklyn with spacious facilities and reasonable pricing. Best for families with their own skates due to poor rental quality.
We went on a weekday and enjoyed it a lot. The ice skating rink wasn't crowded at all. Only a few people were skating. The $10 entrance fee is very reasonable for skating in NYC. The rink is outdoors but there's a roof over the rink to protect it from the weather. The Duck Island Cafe nextdoor was great as well. Very friendly staff and fresh inexpensive food. We got a huge freshly made turkey bacon BLT sandwich for $8 or $9 and pepperoni pizza for like $5. At most concession stands like this the sandwiches are premade and wrapped in plastic so we were pleasantly surprised. Skate rental costs $10 but we didn't rent because we had our own skates. There was plenty of street parking on the side street next to the park.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with their own ice skates who want an affordable outdoor skating experience in NYC. The rink itself gets consistent praise for space and atmosphere, but rental skates are reportedly in poor condition. Avoid busy periods when systems may be overwhelmed and service suffers.

βHad an amazing experience, the ice rink was spacious and it was fun skating. The staff were friendly and didnβt give me a hard time, and there wasnβt a long wait . The prices also were quite reasonable, overall was a great experience!β

βItβs beautiful, the ice skating rink was nice, the staff was friendly always ready to help and offered to take photos or were always willing to take photos. The only thing is that they didnβt have lockers to use I had my lock ready but I still had to pay my stuff to be taken in. Also prospect park doesnβt do a good job of cleaning their park on the road my feet were completely wet by the time I got to the skating rink. It was still a blessed time!! Iβd go againβ

βThe person at the front was extremely rude. All systems were down, and they only accepted cash/told me after already 10 minutes standing in line (had to leave to go to atm) and they made people stand in the cold for 30 minutes with no accessibility measures. Watched management look at the line and walk away without doing anything. Disappointing because I am a frequent skater here and the service was so terrible. :(β
