1 / 2Madison Children's Museum
📍 Madison, WI
Interactive children's museum at 100 N Hamilton St in Madison with indoor and outdoor exhibits. Best suited for ages 3 and up. One reviewer notes the museum is less engaging for children under 19 months with the under-1 free admission policy.
Great place to take your kids. We missed out on a few of the outdoor exhibitions due to the weather.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 3–10. Toddlers under 2 will find fewer targeted activities — manage expectations if bringing very young children. Outdoor exhibits add value in fair weather. Downtown Madison location makes it easy to combine with other activities nearby.

“I don’t understand how under 1 is free? We took our 19 month old and there was nothing for her to do. Should be advertised as 3 and under free. Super disappointed and won’t be back.”
