1 / 3Margaret L. Kempner Playground đ
đ Manhattan, NY
Central Park playground rebuilt in 2019 with custom wooden climbers, bucket and tire swings, adaptive swings, sandbox, sand table, and seasonal water features. Accessible surfaces and ramped structures throughout.
Amazing kid's Park in Central Park. I mean what do you expect from that place but the best. It is super clean, every toy and attraction are perfectly maintained, it is the best place for kids to go play. Water fountain are running, it is a real treat to stop and enjoy the quietness. Not too far from the 5th Ave, but you cannot hear the cars, it is surrounded by trees. Hope to go back soon !
đ Family Action Verdict
A well-maintained Central Park playground that works across age groups, from toddlers in the sandbox to older kids on the climbers. The picnic area behind the play structures makes it a solid spot for a longer visit â families bring lunch and stay for hours. Plan bathroom visits in advance as the nearest public restrooms are a ten-minute walk away.

âWe took our daughter here whilst in New York. A very nice, newish playground with swings, slides, and other stuff to climb over. She enjoyed spending half an hour here. There is also a little picnic area with benches if you take food. It is fairly easy to find the playground as it's on the edge of the park.â

âLove this playground, play structures for both older and younger kids. Pretty shaded in the morning too. Picnic tables behind the play area, good for birthday parties.â

âAugust 2024: Water elements were working this time. Same for the water drinking fountain. Fun times for the kids. There's a weak free WiFi signal from a school nearby you can use. May 2023: Nicely maintained playground. Water elements were not working (yet) at the beginning of May. Nearest public restroom is about a 10 minute walk away which is quite inconvenient with kids. I'd say mostly interesting for kids up to the age of 6. Not much challenge for the older ones.â
