1 / 2McLaren Redwood Playground
📍 McLaren Park, CA
Newly renovated playground designed for ages 5–12 with a smaller section for younger kids. Features rope courses, multiple swings, a tall slide, and a short slide — all set among redwood trees in McLaren Park.
Newly renovated park is great. It's designed for 5 to 12 yrs old. Though they have a small slide for little kids and a tall and long slide for the older ones. They have a couple of swings and some ropes courses. The real draw here is the setting: surrounded by redwood trees up the hill and a big open sky view down the hill. The numerous hiking trails in the vicinity are a wonderful addition. The playground's design is also exceptionally well-considered, which greatly assists our children in challenging themselves.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for kids ages 2–12, with clearly separated equipment for different age groups. The redwood canopy provides natural shade and an immersive outdoor feel. Families with kids across a wide age range can all find something engaging here. The single-stall restroom can back up during busy visits.

“I wish it had more than just one stall for the bathroom. Overall at least it has a bathroom compared to the new stern grove playground which does not. The playground itself is really nice!”

Overview
McLaren Redwood Playground sits inside McLaren Park surrounded by towering redwood trees, giving it a distinctive setting unlike most urban playgrounds. The recent renovation added rope courses, dual swings, a tall long slide for older kids, and a smaller slide for toddlers. A restroom is on-site — a genuine advantage over nearby playgrounds that lack facilities. The open grassy area beside the structures gives kids room to run freely between climbing sessions.
