📍 Littleton, MA
MetroRock Littleton offers top rope and bouldering routes regularly refreshed for all skill levels, plus outdoor climbing instruction through MetroRock Climbing School. Adaptive and community climbing groups run alongside standard sessions.
I love climbing here! There are lots of great top roping routes that are regularly changed, and plenty of options in my skill level range. I also appreciate how inclusive it is and that they offer community climbing groups for women, LGBTQ+ climbers, adaptive climbing, etc. The one drawback is the pricing—this is probably the most expensive gym I’ve ever climbed at.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with kids roughly 7 and up who want an introduction to structured climbing. The required weekend orientation is a genuine asset for first-timers—staff walk newcomers through technique and safety before they hit the wall. Adults with their own experience can climb independently as kids build skills.

“both of my daughters climb here & love it!”

“Expensive. For two 9 year olds to climb, it will be $64, which includes shoes and harness. Kids will need chalk, but it’s not offered for free (ridiculous), so you’ll need to pay out of pocket for that cost as well. $6.50 is the cheapest option. So expect to pay $70 for about an hour worth of climbing. They get tired after that.”
